RuNning away dream? Interpret plz?

I lived with my mum up until the age of 21 and mostly every single night I would have this dream where something is chasing me through the house - I never see what it is but I'm petrified of it - I run out the back and jump over the gate to get away - I never just open the gate. The monster or whatever it is never catches me. I moved out with my boyfriend 3 years ago and the dreams stopped straight away. I had this dream mostly every night. Can someone interpret it for me please??
