Beginning guitar...?

Hey, I've been learning to play the guitar for about 3 months now on an acoustic, but I'm switching to electric. I want to know if anyone can recommend any good, dependable, affordable amps. Also, if you can give me any ideas for a good dependable guitar as well. I'm kind of a 'newbie' so don't make fun of me! :P Also, if you could give me a list of various guitar types (Fender, Strat, etc) I'd 'preciate it lots!!!!! Thanks guys!
